Trickshooter Social Club have always just wanted to own the stage when they rock out. With that golden halo of the cannon lights on their shoulders, they must look like AC/DC when they were in Royal Albert Hall. Putting in that time and dedication to make their songs catchy pocket keepers, they are back with their latest EP. This one is called Truck Stop Dangerous.
The opening riff should alone be enough to get you on your feet. Trickshooter Social Club come together to create a gust of dusty wind, and it sure does carry some rock in it. From when the band has been formed, the music is a sticky treat, something that stays with you long after the buzz of the stereo dies down. Beautiful is the name of the first song, and they create some gorgeous rhythm elements that buzz for the remainder of the song. You’re sucked into the cyclic rock rampage they want to take you on.
We go harder in hard rock with Clarksdale Serenade #2. It is the kind of riff that Morello would write, though I’m sure it gets as heavy. It has that swing just like that Black Sabbath song, Hole in the Sky. You feel the metal touch here, like the cold steel of gun metal. You’re in their vicinity now, so don’t be scared to go all out wild. They expect it.
Trickshooter Social Club don’t want to rest after that. Elvis Figurines aims to take your attention away from the chaos you witnessed. Lovable chaos. You’re taken to a whole other swing class, and at this point you’re proud of how you spent your time. Trickshooter Social Club have gone above and beyond to create a tsunami swell of new, energizing music, and they don’t just sit there waiting. They go and claim it.
Lie To Me completely shifts the vibe again. You feel like you’re in country rock soil this time. It has the harmonics and echo of a song that would play from a Grundig at a truck stop. Maybe that’s where the first part of the EP name comes. It is surprising to see one band choose so many personas for one collection. All we know is that, they did good. For once and forever, a listener of this album is their bona fide fan.
Their album from earlier this year called Wilderness Radio was another gem of an EP to receive. As they travel thematically across America, we’re going to get to hear a lot of their styles and music. This would be perfect in 22 Chaser, the underrated movie from 2018. Listen to their superb collection above and follow them for more!
