The Scottish singer- Natalie Clark has an incredible body of work behind her. She won words of praise from Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson when she appeared in The Voice, America. She is now back to reinforce the world with a little bit of self-love that is much needed with- How High, her single.
Songs that speak of Self Love and care, have a tendency to sound overtly sugary in nature. How High is unlike such songs with its laid-back yet peppy nature. The track plays with minimal beats of drums and snaps until it booms into the chorus gently. “You, you know that sky is the limit, all you gotta do is just begin it.’ telling us that the only thing holding us back, is ourselves. The layering in the chorus is mastered to perfection. The song bubbles with life and with the possibilities of what tomorrow holds.
A series that does the exact same thing is The Bold Type through its three female leads. Of course, the show has girls having fun in pretty dresses. But what it does with suave is it sheds light on important topics such as racism and how to work alongside woke culture. It’s also always nice to see women with great storylines having fun on screen and passing the Bechdel test.
Natalie Clark is not a stranger to hard work and it is seen in How High. It is not easy to make a song sound both cool and peppy at the same time and she has accomplished it with grace. She manages to get your body grooving even without breaking a sweatl!
