John Taglieri is the indie musician’s idol. Releasing all his music independently, he has done more than well in his fruitful career in music. 14 albums, thousands of live shows and singles released-all without major financial backing or a record contract that would exploit him. He has risen with his own style, a language and flavour that is reminiscent of the musicians that inspired him. Now he continues to inspire others, with his latest single. This is Part Time Love.
Some might confuse it with the title of Stevie Wonder’s hit, Part Time Lover. It is an emotion that runs on the same lines. John Taglieri however, takes a soft acoustic approach with some great guitar parts. Playing live and recording music for 21 years has a powerful impact on the kind of music quality and output you’ll have. The balance, style and sound seems to be tailored around his body of work. The percussion is soft and soothing, while minimal bass lines aid some parts. The guitar slides are an emotional rise, while the transitions are as smooth and suave as can be. John Taglieri brings the kind of live music output you would expect from a connoisseur of this kind.
I would love to hear this in the movie Blue is the Warmest Colour (2013). With some brilliant ideas, it was one of the first films I watched which showed a failed relationship. Crisp and accurate lyrics from John make this a memorable track as well. He is a brilliant musician with a library worth envying. Listen to his single and follow him for more music like this!
