‘Lullaby Cove’ and ‘Straight Lines’ are the first two songs to be released by Blackpool based artist Tali Febland and the first new music from her since 2015 , In the years since the release of her debut under the pseudonym ‘Trailer Baby’, produced by Alan Gregson (Badly Drawn Boy, Corner Shop). The new material, years in the making, is both deeply personal and cathartic whilst also tackling universally relatable themes. The death of her father, birth of her daughter, The intensity of grief in particular left her unable to sing for the four years following the loss of her father, only now finding her voice again and being able to manifest the music that has been waiting to come out all this time.
Fundamentally piano lead, the music is drenched in romantic orchestral strings with irresistible, lilting melodies underpinned with classic songwriting, whilst always treading the fine line between the ethereal and experimental. Tali regularly uses found objects during the recording process, such as shells and pebbles found during a spiritually enlightening trip to Lulworth Cove ‘(Lullaby Cove’). The juxtaposition of these with experimental production techniques serves as the perfect representation of her love of both nature and the mechanical and industrial – deeply instilled in her from a young age, due to growing up on an industrial estate where her playgrounds were disused trailers and workshop yards.
