Growing up as a classical trained pianist, and then moving to more roles as a music composer/arranger/producer, Shuzhen started composing music since 2009, collaborated with various artists from Malaysia, UK, Taiwan, Singapore and more for albums, films, animations, and dance performances.

Hailed from the city of Johor Bahru, Malaysia, Shuzhen’s debut solo live show was in the JB Arts Festival in 2016, followed by first show in Kuala Lumpur – Dongtaidu music festival, George Town Festival, and a few mü-nest showcases (one of the independent labels in KL) at live fact & moutou from 2016 – 2019. Her first release, which is a remix track for Japanese artist Okamotonoriaki was released in 2017, followed by her debut single release ‘Once’ in April 2020.

Shuzhen’s works mainly focus on piano sounds. Being inspired by many great artists like Ólaful Arnalds, Brian Eno, Imogen Heaps, Hania Rani, Filica and many others, her music style has since evolved into more experimental/electronic/post classical vibes, the melodies of the music are simple but yet delicate.

Most of her works are inspired from emotions from within, which are rare to be revealed. It not only allows this young musician to explore infinite possibilities in more than just playing piano itself, to create more sounds in between, and also inspires her that the depth of music can be expressed and presented in many faces.
