1Podge Lane
Based in Cork City, Podge Lane yields his unique authorial voice alongside folk and alt-country stylings. Podge began recording and releasing his original material independently. In 2018 with debuted his singles; ‘The Dark’ and ‘Move on’.
Podge was spotted by Echoing STEM as the 2017 newcomer of the year. This was due to his honest to a fault lyricism and explorative instrumentals. They helped release his Debut EP- People Leave In Colour on the 4th of April 2018. With a great reception from his listeners, it catapulted him The Irish Post Indie Artist Of The Year Nomination. He went up against big hitters such as The Academic, Keywest and All Tvvins. Following his successful troubadour-style tour, Podge recorded his third EP Falling Backwards Into Nothing, 2019. Along with which he recorder his second EP The Big Break, all while opening for Rozi Plain and Kiran Leonard.
2019 also saw two live albums being put in the mix by Podge Lane. Making It Up As I Go Along Part 1 (Studio) and Part 2 (The Live Show) were one of his most dynamic albums. Showcasing his ability to blend shows with audience banter, humour, full band improv and heartbreaking solo tunes. Through the progression and expansion of Podge’s musical catalogue, he continues to challenge musical boundaries. With his 2020 Experimental Folk EP ‘Weak Beneath the Knees’ and the sax infused country single ‘Don’t Take It from Me’ we see exactly that.
