1KID JUPITER
Kid Jupiter are melody makers for the modern age. A Kid Jupiter dancefloor becomes the crowd’s discotheque, their ballroom, the radio hidden under their pillow. Their live shows have all the pomp and energy of musical theatre if every actor on stage was Bruce Springsteen in a cravat.
A merry band of friends of friends from North London, Kid Jupiter’s post-retro look and sound hearkens back to classic artists like The Byrds, The Rolling Stones and The Alan Parsons Project. Meanwhile, their lyrics live in a more modern house, beating the drum for gender identity, modern masculinity and living with anxiety.
They previously garnered national radio coverage of their a-cappella gender fluidity anthem “Grey Skirt”, described as “brave and beautiful” (Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music). Further success came with their debut single “Keeping Fit”, which landed on the official Hot New Bands, Your Office Stereo and Counter playlists on Spotify. These early successes brought big support slots at The Roundhouse and a series of stirring shows across London.
After COVID-19/2022 came a shift in direction, with new members and music, and 2023 brings the release of their new single ‘bluepink’ – the first of a host of releases planned for the next year.
If you’ve ever been caught lip-syncing in public while acting in your own imaginary music video, Kid Jupiter are your friends, and possibly enablers.
