The Arcitype is a musician and producer born in New York City in the early 80s. His love for music started when he was five years old and his father enrolled him in music school. He studied classical piano and later developed a love for the blues, which led him to learn to play the guitar.
After playing small clubs with the blues/funk group Tip Top Deluxe, The Arcitype pursued a solo career in acoustic rock and blues. His interest in the recording process led him to set up a home studio, and in 2002, he began producing beats for hip hop, seeing it as a contemporary interpretation of the traditional blues he loved.
The Arcitype attended Emerson College in Boston to pursue a degree in audio production and music. During this time, he established himself in the Boston hip-hop scene and formed his own label, AR Classic Records, to release his own projects.
In 2008, The Arcitype opened a multi-room recording studio, The Bridge Sound & Stage, in Cambridge, MA. The studio has since become a musical epicentre for the New England area, winning the Boston Music Awards “Recording Studio of The Year” twice.
Overall, The Arcitype’s diverse musical background and passion for the recording process have led him to become a successful producer and studio owner, making a significant impact in the Boston hip hop scene and beyond.
