Chris Galis, the mastermind behind Genuine Leather, has self-released a variety of projects that span different genres and influences. However, he felt pigeonholed as a lo-fi DIY artist and desired to refine his approach. In partnership with UK-based label The Animal Farm, Galis will release a 6-song EP in the fall titled Genuine Pleasure. Leading up to the release, he will drop several singles to introduce the new Genuine Leather to a wider audience. The first single, “Promises,” will debut on February 17th and is a 3-minute dance-pop track that showcases Galis’ songwriting skills. The EP is a significant step forward for Genuine Leather and reflects Galis’ personal musical growth.
