Alejandra O’Leary is an electro-pop-rock songwriter and performer from Portland, Maine, U.S.A.
She creates hybrid pop-rock tracks at home and at Acadia Recording Company in Portland. Influenced by Liz Phair, Evan Dando, Britney Spears and The Strokes as much as The Beatles, Elvis Costello, and Lucinda Williams, Alejandra’s music has been featured in PopMatters, No Depression, MAGNET, and other national and international outlets.
Alejandra’s music appears in numerous film and television projects. Her songs feel like they’d be right at home on the soundtrack to an indie romantic drama from the 1990s. She captures the lighthearted grittiness of those films while swinging between every pace of the human condition.
Critics are struck by personal touch, musical adventurousness, and sparkling aunticity Alejandra brings to her music. “Hole meets Zoey Deschanel,” one reviewer proposed. This wild formula gets close to Alejandra’s sonic heart.
Alejandra has released six albums of original songs since 2009. Her new one drops in 2024.
