William Hut-Don’t Give Up
William Hut has a voice that is like a soothing, sonic balm. His choice of melodies and lyrics is always intriguing, and he creates a dense alchemy of rhythms and stories within his music. Every enchanting and pulsating with life, he has continued to make mesmerizing music for more than 2 decades. This is his latest single, Don’t Give Up.
Certain lines feel like clichés in inspirational songs. If not executed well, they seem cheesy, and quite awful. With his years of experience, William Hut gives a whole new perspective. His sound is starry, dreamy and swerving while keeping it fresh. The vocals have harmonies exactly where they require it, and there are no forced, artificial moments of composition. Just over 2 minutes, the song relays the positivity that shines through like a morning star. Like the guiding beacon that it is, it is constant and quivering, keeping in essence what the message might be as a strain within the song. The synth dominating the echoing background is perfectly balanced with his vocals, flowing to a rousing moment that does nothing but enliven.
From The Intouchables to The Pursuit of Happyness, a lot of inspirational scenes come to mind. With this spaced out landscape, the scene is given equal importance, as is the music that supports it. William Hut can be explored through his 2006 album, Nightfall, as well as numerous singles that show the prolific, talented songwriter and musician he is. Consistency and this level of talent in arrangement deserve a chance on the silver screen.
