Vermilion bring the essence of warriors with their music. What they represent are the formative, blooming wreckage that metalcore brought. From messages that inspire and push to elements of art that are technical masterpieces, this band bares it all in their music. This is their latest single, Point of Return.
Look at it any which way you want, the future is looking bleak. The abundance of information doesn’t seem to have percolated through anyone’s soul. Vermilion create a blistering track that admits this and questions the steps to take. Veil of Maya recently released their new album. I feel Vermilion have produced something on par if not better than those titans. Catchy elements that get etched in memory to extreme display of vocal prowess, this song creates the cocoon of crushing truth we need to be exposed to. The chorus is a hook you’ll remember long after the song is over. You’ll even hear August Burns Red influences in their riff writing, while keeping their signature balance between the metal and memorable softer parts. The part from 1:55 creates a tributary to a new kind of electronic fusion amalgam. It is an exciting and well composed gem, one of their best to date.
Their 2019 album Vagabonds & Strangers took them to the pedestal of quality indie music that they represent. This would be a great addition to Linkin Park’s role in Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014). The message is apt, the music has more metal than the protagonists put together. Listen to their music on their Spotify and follow them for more headbanging, heavy music like this!
