The Spiritual Leaders- The Last Sunset
The Spiritual Leaders are an Ireland-based band. The Trio is all set to release their upcoming album “The Fictional Place”. The Last Sunset is a song that is freshly released. The music is incredibly layered not only in terms of the melody but the lyrics as well. The song makes a strong reference to Ulysses, we don’t know if it’s the Alfred Lord Tennyson or the James Joyce Novel. Either way, Ulysses is now old and he yearns for war and its excitement. While the book is a work of genius that has an arena of references from medieval philosophy to Dublin slang.
Apart from this never-ending tunnel of lyrical layering, the song also does a brilliant job with its instrumental layering. It begins with a repetitive synth beat and then the band fills up the song suddenly and gracefully. The number has the 80’s remanent in it, as well as an early 2000s punk-rock aura, peppered into it. You can feel yourself in a music video as you plug in your earphones and listen to this song. The track has a strong cinematic quality to it.
Tom Harper gifted the world with Peaky Blinders but a lesser-known genius of his is Wild Rose. The story follows a Scottish woman who has a criminal history and two children. She is determined to go to Nashville to be a country singer. The movie is a tearjerker drama that is filled with wholesome moments and The Last Sunset would be a beautiful addition to the film’s playlist. You can imagine the song playing as she sticks her head out of the car as it drives off in Nashville.
The Spiritual Leaders are sure to be leading the world with their artistic brilliance. To follow their journey, you must follow them on all their social media handles.
