JOLU released his first-ever single- Blue after breaking away from his previous Indie Rock band Everyday Robot. The slow pop single is crafted to perfection. Especially with JOLU’s voice effortlessly warming your ears with vocal embers that ignite something profound within your soul. Much like the name Blue, he proves that his talent for writing and performing is as endless as the sky and the sea.
Even the silence within the song carries a different kind of texture. The mellow groove that the piano brings adds so much depth for JOLU to bounce off of with his vocals. The booming bass of his voice is enough to move you but we get so much more from Vincent Wijnheijmer. The arrangement on the track is genius. You won’t know what hit you as the song seamlessly bubbles with intensity and suddenly we are faced with an orchestral section. This orchestral section hits us like a giant water wall that leaves us breathless. “You can be with yourself, You can choose someone else. Yeah, you possess the strength. Undeniably you defend.” This poetic beast of a line is what he leaves us with. The embers of this fire soundtrack crackles, sizzles and leaves you with a storm of emotions.
Speaking of storms of emotions, Men, Women and Children is one such film that brews the perfect storm. Blue would honestly elevate several scenes within this indie film. Needless to say, the track drips with passion and vulnerability. It goes without saying, we must look out for the intriguing work JOLU puts out in the future, something tells me he is full of surprises. You can do the same by clicking on the links attached below.
