John Taglieri isn’t your standard singer-songwriter. There are tales to be told, places to be explored, through his eyes. It always helps that his soothing voice is your blanket of comfort and joy. While his compositions are real, it also gathers the passion he has for music and writing. This is his latest single, Talk to Me. 

If you’ve listened to singles like Lonely Together and Part Time Love, you know how hand in hand his arrangement and lyrics go. It is precious to hear, something of a bleeding heart while still having a grip on himself. As much as this track is an appeal, it is a bracket where he reminisces moments and is in conversation with this mystique. The simple acoustic playing doesn’t distract from the words, the percussions are soft and withdrawn. This is till the chorus comes in, where the attack is actually felt. The distortion comes in, the progression is unique and driven. John Taglieri encapsulates pain and yearning in equal measure, and is the kind of song that becomes your singing favourite. You’ll want to talk to him too, that’s how soothing his words and energy is. It is like a prequel to Open Up to Me. 

If John Taglieri is anything, he is the king of vulnerability. He expresses every fracture, the hurt and pain in his lyrics. The melodies run parallel as well, without doubt. I think this song would be great in this movie called Like Crazy (2011). It is a special movie, about the perils of long distance. John will write the melodies they make love stories about.
