Jeán et Joie are a band of sisters who have created what can be described as the most wholesome song out there- Glory Be. The track is a raw rendition of faith, not only in God but in yourself. They gracefully weave together elements of devotional and soul music. They leave us in awe of the spiritual essence that shines in the song. Glory Be transports you to another world entirely, leaving you feeling the music in your body as you close your eyes. 

The soulful voices harmonise like angels, resonating with a soft quality that cushions you. The track begins with a guitar section that slowly introduces us to the track. There are phenomenal lyrics that must be acknowledged that leave a mark right from the first listen. “Waiting on you like we wait for Medusa, like we’re all getting stones, Glory Be.” And this is just the opening line. There is also a marching quality to the drum section in the song that has a hold over your attention, almost daring you to look away. This obviously would fit in a film like Evan Almighty. But it would also fit in a Jennifer’s Body, simply because it would add so much to the cinematic quality of the film. You can imagine Amanda Seyfried in solitary confinement as this song blares. Especially because the film lives up to every feminist criteria out there.
