Gary Dranow-Fool Outta Me
Gary Dranow might be a regular feature in your rock and drive playlists now. His journey has been inspirational, and the resulting music, really cool and groovy. This time, Gary wants to take us back to the track that he began 2022 with. This is his single, Fool Outta Me.
A lovelorn nomad has always spent a moment in introspection. It is after some relationships that they realize, they’ve been conned. This Tom Petty styled track was the late 70s rock swing your playlist needed for quite some time. Jerry Manfredi and Gary Dranow bring a synth and crunchy guitar rhythm section. This hops, while the lyrics are of this particular heartbreak. The keys change textural effects for parts of the song, bringing the mischievous tone. In some parts, the synths are as pronounced and heavy as a Rush track, but the immaculate execution keeps us hooked. Fool Outta Me has all those little classy things that made the late 70s rock sound so unique and definitive. It became the gold standard to measure music for a reason. The scale change and effects make for a sycophantic aural paradise as well. Gary Dranow and the Manic Emotions want the retro touch to be felt for what it is.
I loved the vibe of this song, I’d see it fit The Italian Job, Logan Lucky or heist films with ease. Though it has a romantic undertone to it, the scene seems more defined when this song plays in the background as the rich benefactor is duped. We already have more of Gary Dranow’s tracks reviewed on this blog, be sure to check them out and support him! Till next time, rock on with Gary!
