Evol Walks usually puts you front and center of a mosh pit but with Sleeping With A Ghost (reimagined), she takes us to the dunes of musical despair. This is an alternative take on her song- Sleeping With A Ghost. Evol’s lead singer- Leah Martin Brown has the incredible ability and versatility to mould her voice as she wishes. This track is special because it’s different compared to their usual Rock numbers.Â
In Both the original and the reimagined version, the guitar plays an important role. Evol has managed to create two very different environments with the same instrument. While they have brilliant rock numbers out there, this one takes the cake with the amount of layering and rawness that is stuffed into the song. The original was a unique rendition but this one is somehow more exciting. Every guitar strum, drum roll and every word that comes from Leah’s mouth is mixed to perfection. The music has a sultry quality to it, a very rare mix, especially with rock and yet it is so appealing.Â
Honestly speaking, this track would work so well in Birds Of Pray. The film can do what musicals do beautifully, use the original and then used the reprised version to add gravity to the scene and the film in general. Sleeping With A Ghost embodies the essence of the entire film. Evol Walks will have you drunk on quality with every song they release and this one is no different. The track is clearly gold, also the cover art for this brilliant piece of music must be appreciated as well.
