Dax gave his all in his latest album, Pain Paints Paintings. It is an evolution of an artist unlike anything seen before. What was dismissed by critics as a claim to fame and cheap fakery, has answered back through art. Dax might not be the rap hero you look at, but you definitely won’t look past him. This is a single from his stellar breakthrough album Pain Paints Paintings, PTSD.

To deliberately relook at pain can be a salt in the wound. It is a process people don’t realise will rejuvenate and ultimately help you. Stemming from an incident, Dax details his flashback of pain. It is a different perspective, seeing it late, but it might still hurt. Here this artist gives his all, creating a visual map with a timeline. We spend most of this song inside his mind, as he sifts through feelings and effects, from the trauma.

As he tries to move forward from the incident, it is impossible to look past it. Dax uses a cinematic background, something that accents the horrific parts of the memory. The beat envelopes, deafens and discombobulates. It is the desired effect, and the production has made sure it has been executed to perfection. You could definitely hear this track even being in the promo of No Remorse, starring Michael B Jordan. 

Ideally, Dax’s biography would do the best job. However, I’m looking at scenes of PTSD dominating the scene, like The Bourne Series as well. You can see him unfold with his songs with Dear Alcohol, She Cheated Again among many others. Confront the truth.
