Tønder by Chip Pirrs is an ethereal pop ballad that speaks of wanting a relationship to work. Its is a single he released last year that still captures hearts with its moving melody. Its haunting vocal blends with its atmospheric instrumentals elevating the listening experience to another level entirely. The song takes its listeners on a journey with its lush production and dreamlike soundscape. This creates a layered, textures and immersive experience for us listeners.
The song begins with an upbeat synth beat and Chip’s voice enters the scene bringing in the melancholy. The track simmers up as the beat picks up and there is an incohesive nature to the beats briefly. This is paired with the lyric “I knew this wouldn’t last the very first day. Could’ve avoided this crash the very first day.”. It is a genius poetic introspection by Chip Pirrs. The last bit where the percussion soars into existence really ties the song in altogether. As is if he is a soldier ready for battle and ready to win back his love.
Jumping the Broom is a film that speaks of love in many forms- parental love, platonic love and romantic love. It is a wedding film and obviously does a brilliant job at representing all the chaos that occurs in a wedding house. The film has a brilliant playlist and Tønder would only add immense value to it. We can imagine this song playing as Sabrina realises who her real mother is and in turn Geneva wanting to rebuild that relationship.
The production in this soundtrack is slick, with every element working in perfect harmony to create the perfect sonic experience. You must catch more work by Chip Pirrs.
