Feel an ocean of calm running through you, with Birds are Better. It is a sound that is in connect with nature, with the pulsing beat of what is life. Maybe the little things matter more, as they insinuate the big things definitely do. That is what his music sounds like. This is his collaboration with Stian Fjelldal, Seven in the Morning. 

A song like this will bring you a smile on your face almost instantly. Using a blend of acoustic fingerpicking and serene soundscapes, you are transported to a quiet road, early in the morning. That feeling is more than a sacrifice of peace of mind. It is a plea, with the intention of love. It rings out as it brings and breathes of purpose. Similar to artists like Bon Iver, the acoustic sounds like a deeper, untold desire that can only be hummed through music. Iron and Wine, Ray LaMontagne are artists who can really hold your attention with their play of lyrics. Birds are Better has a vocal and instrumental maturity that has a cinematic impact on your imagination. True poetry is that simple, it is derived from moments people overlook to be nothings. We are made of simple nothings. 

I was reminded of Manchester by the Sea (2016). A lucidly beautiful movie with amazing performances, it also holds scenes for their dramatic unfolding. Songs like Marigold and Oblivion, Bliss are some of my favourite by this artist. The simplicity in writing and elucidating feelings is something that will be beyond me.
